This story is an elf telling the reader about how he wrote the greatest bedtime story ever. At first, he was looking for inspiration on what to write. It was an ordinary day, and he went for a stroll. Then he hears something coming from a cave he never noticed previously. He bravely walks in to see what is making the noise and finds a young dragon who is having a hard time falling asleep. The elf takes on the challenge of writing the greatest bedtime story ever for the dragon who says he often falls asleep after a snack. The elf writes and draws and then tells the dragon the greatest story that was hilarious, informative, shocking, charming and so much more. It was so amazing the dragon falls asleep. The elf decides it is his time to escape, but he forgets his story. He goes back for it and tries not to wake the dragon...
The book is fun and different. The elf doesn't find inspiration around him even though any of us probably would with his fellow magical creatures. He walks into the dark and mysterious cave with a crying wail coming from it. Instead of being a snack he decides to use his creative imagination and writing skills to create a book of the greatest bedtime story for the dragon. He shares how it was humorous, exciting, emotional and so much more. The dragon loves it and eventually falls asleep. The book is humorous and creative. It is fun and perfect for a read aloud.
