The Wonderful Wisdom of Ants -- New Picture Book Review

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Spring begins today here! With spring we usually see a lot of ants. Today I get to share a brand new book (released today) about ants. The book is The Wonderful Wisdom of Ants by Philip Bunting. It is recommended for ages 4 to 8. I am also including an ant craft round-up to go with the book.

From the Publisher:

Take a peek under the rock, and discover what we can learn from the world of the ant, in this delightful blend of nonfiction and inspirational humor by author-illustrator Philip Bunting!

There are ten quadrillion ants in the world, and yet I bet you never thought they could teach you anything. But these tiny creatures can do big things when they work together–just like people!

With his signature humor and graphic illustrations, Philip Bunting delivers facts, laughs, and heart all in this special book that teaches that the answers to many of life’s biggest questions can be found in your own back yard (once you’re ready to look).

From Me:

Are you ready to learn all about ants? This book tells you all about them including the number of ants in the world. It shares all the information about ants and their colonies. We learn about the queen ant, the drone ants and the worker ants. We also learn about the good they do in the world. The book shares how ants communicate and mark the path to treats and so much more.

The book does an amazing job to show a positive side to ants. Ants often get a bad reputation with invading picnics and homes. This book however shares their lives and how they work together to benefit their colony. It also shares how they actually benefit the world. It talks about their communication and more. The book is written in a fun way that young kids will love. This book will be fun to read aloud. i can see kids finding some parts funny. It is a fun book just to read but also a great resource for a unit on ants, insects, or bugs.

This book is written to help people love ants and see why they are important in our world. It even ends with some lessons we can learn from ants. I made this printable with the lessons.
