Zen Origami Coloring Kit -- a Crafty Weekends Review & Link Party

Disclosure: Tuttle Publishing sent me this kit in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Today I am sharing a fun kit that combines two of our favorite things--coloring and origami!! The kit is Zen Origami Coloring Kit by Nick Robinson. Two relaxing activities combined into one.

Inside this box one finds 60 sheets of origami paper to color and use, seven markers and a book with origami instructions!!

The first decision becomes which fun paper to color. There are so many different patterns in there. I chose this one.

I also found one Hazel started awhile ago. I decided to try the origami instructions out with these pages.

The instruction book has twelve different projects to make.

I decided to try the twist flower. I had never seen this one previously, so it would be a new project to figure out how to do. I found the instructions very easy to follow and the illustrations helpful.

With the page that Hazel partially colored I made the dove of peace. This was another new project for me. Again the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I found them very detailed without assumptions that the person trying to follow them has knowledge of origami folding techniques. This set works well for beginners.

I found this kit relaxing and fun. It has been awhile since I did any coloring and I remembered instantly why I enjoy it and realized I need to do it more often. Guess I will hit the coloring books again. For some more origami and coloring check out Color Your Own Origami and Origami Fun for Kids
