Legacy -- YA Book Review -- Mommy Time

Disclosure: Novel Publicity sent me a copy of this book free of charge in return for an honest review. All opinions in my review are my own and I did not receive any other compensation. As always I am providing links to the book for your convenience.

The year is 2041. A teenage girl is crossing the Golden Gate Bridge alone to enter the evacuated and dangerous San Francisco. Her mother is sending her with important information for the Resistance, but it may get her killed. This is how this amazing book starts. Legacy by Ellery A. Kane is a page turner.

The story follows Lex Knightley as she tries to figure out what is really happening and who to trust. Her mother has not told her everything and it hurts her emotionally when Les discovers it. Lex falls in love and kills her first person. The story is intense and it integrates the scenic San Francisco area into the pages. What would you do if the country was under marshal law and the soldiers protecting the nearby city are on mind-altering drugs that make sure they have no fears. Her mother created the drugs and realized it was a mistake. This story is the type that makes you want to keep reading and not put it down. You are always wondering what will happen next. I had trouble putting it down and doing my daily activities. It is a must read!! I should add I am not that into science fiction, but this story just pulls you into it.

Legacy is the first book in the Legacy series. The second book, Prophecy, was released earlier this year. I know I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy to see what will happen to Les and the friends she made in Legacy.  I hope you check out this series!!
