Books to Get Ready for Halloween (or Summerween)!

Summerween is upon us!! I know I just got invited to a Summerween Celebration. We have been sharing all sorts of fun Summerween/Halloween books to celebrate. Last week we focused on ghosts and this week it is more about witches. Since we live near Salem, Massachusetts witches are a year-round thing. Today's books include a beautiful board book about getting ready for Halloween and a picture book about a witch. We will start with the board book. It is Wonderful Halloween by Emily Winfield Martin. It is recommended for ages 0 to 3. 

Imagination Builders -- Back to School

Have your children started school yet? Almost everyone I know has or will this week.  I have decided to share products that will help everyone who homeschools or just supplements their kids' schools with learning at home. The first item I am sharing is a new book by Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston called A Child of Books.

Summertime is for day dreaming and imaging. Don't you agree? I remember those summer days of making up games and just pretending with friends or myself. I always love giving Hazel time to do this and today I am sharing four books that help inspire that feeling. The first is The Bell in the Bridge by Ted Kooser and illustrated by Barry Root.

Penguin Kids has some fun books recently or soon-to-be released that I want to share with you. The first is perfect for a preschooler and/or emerging reader. It teaches the concepts of in and out, over, under and around, and on and off in a very fun manner. The book is In! Over! and On! (the Farm) by Ethan Long.
