Celebrate Mother's Day with These Fun Books!

Disclosure: I was sent copies of these books in order to provide honest reviews. All opinions are my own.

Mother's Day is on Sunday!! How are you celebrating? When Hazel was young, I loved all the school Mother's Day events. Now she has big shows every Mother's Day, so I don't really get to see her. This year I am going to visit my mom. However part of what I loved about when she was young were the books, the cards and crafts, songs, etc. Today we are sharing two books perfect for kids to show how much they love mom and see a bit about what Mother's Day is about! The first book is from The World of Eric Carle with some of his beautiful illustrations! It is Thank You, Mom! from Baby Bear and Friends by Eric Carle and Odd Dot. It is a board book and recommended for babies to three.

About the Book:

A heartwarming celebration of all the love, joy, and tender care that mothers bring into our lives.

Adorable rhymes dance across the pages, perfectly paired with the iconic and beloved art of Eric Carle in Thank You, Mom. Each delightful page beautifully captures the heartfelt gratitude that children feel for their wonderful moms. It's the perfect gift to celebrate Mom on Mother's Day and a cherished expression of love to share all year-long.

From Me:

This book has the fun animal illustrations from Eric Carle with the words thanking mom for all the wonderful things she does. It thanks mom for the hugs and kisses, the songs, her wisdom and care and things like this. It is a sweet book that reminds readers all the things moms do for kids with love and understanding.

This book brought back some of my memories of when Hazel was young. The fun little things we would do and share together. It brought back the smiles and the love shared. Being a mom is tiring. It can be hard, but there are also those moments of joy and love. This book reminds us of those moments even the small ones.

This book is perfect for the new moms and really any mom. It is the perfect gift for a baby shower or just for Mother's Day (perhaps someone's first). It is also wonderful for lovers of Eric Carle's books!!

Our second book is also animal themed. It is part of the If Animals Kissed Good Night Series. It is If Animals Said I Love You, Mama by Ann Whitford Paul and illustrated by David Walker. It is a picture book recommended for ages 2 to 6.

About the Book:

A must-have for any nursery! This bestselling series adds another charming picture book that imagines creatures all across the animal kingdom as kiddos showing affection to their mamas – making it the perfect purchase for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day or any time of year.

What if animals did what YOU do?

If animals said “I love you, Mama," Wombat would work long and hard on his Thank-You-for-Being-My-Mama card. Kookaburra would busily bake Mama’s beloved beetle-bug cake. Wallaby and Mama would go for a walk, speaking of love in their hisssss-hiss talk. Each animal would show Mama love in their own special way.

Featuring playful rhymes and adorable art, the story highlights the joys of the mother-child relationship through an imaginative lens. If Animals Said I Love You, Mama is ideal for bedtime and gift-giving.

From Me:

In this sweet book the child animals are creating cards and gifts for their mamas. Many of the animals are Australian: wombat, kookaburra, wallaby, kangaroo, koala, dingo and more. The animals are finding ways to share their love with their moms in their own unique ways. The kookaburra makes a beetle-bug cake for mom, and the magpies fly away to give mom a break.

This is a sweet book that honors moms and all the things they do for them. It is a book about love shared between a mom and child. It is also a fun book about animals!

As with the other books in the series, this book features cute animals sharing love and caring about each other. It also shares a bit about some of the animals and their habits. Things like koalas eating the leaves and quokkas being near the banksia tree. The dingo howls. It is a wonderful introduction to the various animals in the book and like I said they are very mostly Australian, so it is perfect for a unit on Australian animals too! This book is a wonderful gift for new moms, Mother's Day or for young ones to remind them to show their moms love!
