Disclosure: I was sent a digital copy of this book so I could provide an honest review. All opinions are my own. I am working with The Children's Book Review and Davon Miller to bring you this post.

When kids are young, we tend to read alphabet books. Some have themes and others are funny, but most don't get read too many times. Today I am going to share a fun one with you that I can see quickly becoming a favorite book to be read over and over! The book is A Bus Can't Drive Empty: An Alphaballiteran Adventure by Davon Miller. And since the post is part of The Children's Book Review Virtual Book Tour there is a giveaway at the end!!

This story is wonderful!! They begin with the school bell ringing for the end of the day and the three zebra students going to the bus. Each letter is represented on its own page in both capital and lowercase form. There is a sentence using words that begin with that letter (except x which has XOs on it). The story is quite humorous. The bus runs out of gas and the four go on an adventure hike back to the zoo. It is so entertaining, and kids are going to love this story!

I am remembering getting to read stories to Hazel's preschool and kindergarten classes. They had guest readers. This is a book I could see being a hit. The kids would be laughing over the sounds and the bus running out of gas. The zebras and Chris climbing up a mountain and so much more. It is the perfect read aloud book for home or school. Plus, I love that it has multiple words beginning with each letter and has them in upper and lowercase. If I was reading it with one or two kids, I would spend time talking about the capital and lowercase letters and the sound of each letter in the words. As I said in the introduction, I can see this becoming a favorite in the toddler through emerging reader age group. It is fun and full of so many great things. Plus, all the illustrations look like they are drawn with crayons which I think kids in this age group will completely love. This book is perfect for the preschool and kindergarten classrooms. I can also see kids who are just learning to read loving the story.
