Peace for the Season -- Christmas Devotional

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

It is amazing to me that Thanksgiving is next week!! Christmas will be here before we know it. In the chaos of the holiday season it is important to take time to remember the true reason for the season and also to find some internal peace. Today I am sharing a wonderful devotional that helps you do just that. The book is Peace for the Season by Joel Osteen.

From the Publisher:

Ring in the holiday season with #1 New York Times bestselling author and Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen and find peace and cheer with this beautiful Christmas devotional.

There’s nothing like the joy that comes by sharing our love and what we have with loved ones and friends during the Christmas season. But it can also be a time of stress, worry, and disappointments for many reasons. It’s easy to let our guard down and lose our peace and joy.

The good news is that the true Christmas spirit is wrapped up in Jesus, the Prince of Peace. He doesn’t just have peace; He is peace. He gives us peace that passes understanding. We can have peace when things around us aren’t peaceful. When we stay in a position of peace, we aren’t moved by what others are saying or doing or situations that aren’t working out like we want. His peace inside us doesn’t rise and fall with our circumstances.

Let Peace for the Season bring you to the place of peace and unending hope. You'll have more passion, more contentment, and more joy than you ever imagined.

From Me:

I love having a seasonal devotional to ensure I keep my mind set on Jesus. In our society the holidays have become so much more about materialism than the love and peace that Jesus brings. This book is perfect. It provides forty devotionals broken into eight chapters: God's Got This, Peace with Yourself, All Is Well, Sleep On, The Guardian of Your Soul, Protect Your Peace, What's on Your Throne, and It's Already Set Up. Each chapter begins with scripture sharing part of the Christmas story. Each day has a verse of scripture and then writes about it and brings it to one's own modern day life. Then it ends with a prayer for the day. The entire devotional for a day takes up three of the small pages. This book is small--it is just over a 6-inch square. It will not require long to read it each day but will help focus your day on the Christmas story, Jesus and help you find some peace.

One of the things I really realized through 2020 and 2021 was when I focus on God I have a sense of internal peace. It is a peace that the outside world cannot shatter unless I let it. This devotional sets me up to not let the outside world destroy my peace. It is the peace that one gets directly from Jesus.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."--John 14:27

Jesus speaks often of peace and greets his disciples with offerings of peace.  Peace is the theme of the second week in Advent. It is an important part of Christmas as well as life. This book helps you find the gift of peace that is offered by Jesus. It helps remind you it is there for your taking. I wish you peace this season and hope you will check out this wonderful book.
