My Home Filled with Love -- a Love Letter to Parents in a Picture Book with Gift/Card Craft Round-Up

Disclosure: I was sent a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am working with The Children's Book Review and Tabletop Teaching LLC as part of the Blog Tour. I will receive a small stipend for this review.

Today we are sharing a fun new book that reads as a love letter to parents. It is meant to show kids and parents what a nurturing home looks like, however to me it is a love letter to the girls parents. The book is My Home Filled with Love by Desiree Blanchard and illustrated by Hayley Moore. This post includes a giveaway as well as a round-up of gifts and cards kids can make for their parents!

New Picture Books About Dad's Love

Disclosure: I was sent copies of these books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Today I am going to share two new picture books about dads. They would have been perfect for Father's Day but alas I got them after Father's Day. They are however wonderful books and it is great to see some books with dads in them that have some substance.

Silly & Feel Good Books for the Young

Disclosure: I was sent these products to review free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions in this post are my own. I did not receive any other compensation for this review.

Tonight I am going to share some books for the younger readers. These books are board books and picture books and are for our youngest kids. They leave the reader with a good feeling or are just really silly. The first book is Vegetables in Underwear by Jared Chapman. From the title you can tell it will be a bit silly.

Books for the Young

Disclosure: I was sent these books in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Today I am going to share books for your youngest kids. The ages of these books range from baby to kindergarten. They are a variety of board books and picture books. The topics range from travel, family, transportation and more!! I hope you will check them out for your little ones!!

Mother's Day Gifts

With Mother's Day only one week away, I thought it would be fun to share some homemade Mother's Day gift ideas. So if you have any from this year or previous, please link them below.

I thought I would share with you the gift we made last year for all of Hazel's women in her life. I took pictures of the one I kept, but we gave them to her grandmothers and aunts as well. (I can't remember if we made one for her godmother or not). This poem is floating around on-line. I believe the place I got it from was DLTK's Kids. (There are several Mother's Day poems at that link.)

Sharing Saturday 15-25

Thank you to everyone who shared last week!! Hazel and I have been enjoying her first week of summer vacation with a short trip to Cape Cod to see my parents. This week's features include some ideas for Father's Day (this Sunday in the U.S.), educational posts and some other favorites. Remember this is just a sampling of what was shared last week, so go back and check out the other great ones!!

Lovepop's Mother's Day Giveaway -- Make sure you enter!!

Spring holidays are upon us. That means it is time to think about gifts and cards!! Do you look for the right card for each person? Are you looking for that special one that they will keep forever? Lovepop can help!! You may have heard of Lovepop on Shark Tank in 2015!

Crafty Weekends Link Party

This has been one of those weeks where life has gotten in the way of what I want to do. Therefore I do not have a craft or craft product to review with you, so we are going straight to the party. However I am looking for some participants in a USA postcard swap.

Sunflowers, Seeds, and More

Sunflowers
Sharing Saturday is still open!! Please come visit and share your wonderful child-oriented crafts and activities with us and check out all the great ideas already shared. Tonight Happy Family Times will be open. You will be able to share your wonderful family time stories to help inspire all of us to have more of them.
Watermelons
After our mini-vacation we came home to see how much our plants have grown. We need to begin repotting some of them and planting some new seeds.
Pumpkins
We also got to finally see some growth in our fourth seed container (half milk container) of celery plants!
Celery
We also were able to finish, well almost finish some of our sunflower crafts. Hazel also posed with her flower mask.

Then we got working on our Mother's Day gifts and added some pictures and I printed out the You Are My Sunshine with the specific names. Now I need to buy some magnetic strip for the back and attach the songs to the flowers. I got these ideas from DLTK.
For Me
For Hazel's Godmother
For Daddy
Hazel wanted to make one for Daddy and Pop as well, so I guess they will also be Father's Day gifts. I am thinking of covering them in clear contact paper just to give them more strength before I put the magnetic strips on and attach the songs. Aren't they cute? Here is how I finished them:
Covered in clear contact paper and added two adhesive magnets
A finished product
We are all set for Mother's Day and Father's Day now!
We also had a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Mallard. While at the Cape I visited the Birdwatcher's General Store and asked for advice on what to feed the ducks. We bought some cracked corn and they seem to love it!
Hazel and I also played outside and she decided we were taking the train to the zoo. On the train she gave out diamonds. These are my two--a white one and a blue one. Love her imagination!!

This is where I link up...
