Fun Facts about S'mores and Recipe Round-Up

Did you know today is National S'more Day? It is a day meant to get us out in our backyard making these fun treats!! Last year at our family reunion my cousin was in charge of s'more supplies for the family camp dinner night. She went crazy with all sorts of candy bars for the chocolate. My favorite was the Ghiradelli caramel squares. Hazel really liked the Reese's peanut butter cups. What variation is your favorite? Today I am sharing some fun facts about s'mores and their ingredients as well as a recipe round-up.

The Big Blue Thing on the HIll & See What Seals Can Do -- Book Reviews

Disclosure: Candlewick Press gave me a copy of these books free of charge to review. All opinions in my review are my own and I did not receive any other compensation. As in all my reviews I am providing links for your ease, but receive no compensation.

We have been having so much fun with animal books from Candlewick Press lately. We looked at insects, emus and hippos, Australian animals, bears and endangered animals and kangaroos. Today we are sharing two more animal books. The first is a fun book with many animals who are trying to figure out what the big blue thing on the hill is and how to get rid of it and the second is about seals.

Summer Fun: Activities & Crafts for Beginning Campers

For a very long time Hazel has really wanted to go camping. She has seen various television characters go camping and has heard about it from her friends. Now I grew up camping with my family, but Steve did not. I own a very small tent, but have always camped with people who know how to camp better than I do, so I do not have much confidence. We have promised to take her at some point, but in the mean time I made her a tent and campfire for her doll and then we tried some beginner activities.
