Today I am sharing the first of my reviews for Multicultural Children's Book Day. Today's book shares about fourteen Asian Americans and what they achieved with their lives. The book is part of the Casey S. Bell's American History series.
Our focus today will be Asians in America since this is the book I received to review. At first glance I thought this book doesn't look like much, but I was wrong. It shares a short bit about fourteen Asians in America. Some you have surely heard of like Amy Tan and An Wang (or at least his company Wang Laboratories) and some you may not have heard of like Toni Ko or Dalip Sing Saund. Each person shared in this book has reached significant achievements in the United States and has changed the world for the better.
The people in the book range in their Asian heritage. There are some who were born in the United States and others who moved here from their homeland like India, China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Maharashtra, and others. It is interesting to read about these women and men and see what they have contributed to our world with everything from memorial sculptures to computers as well as judges, aviators, and doctors. The range is wide and there is someone in this book you probably have not heard of yet and should learn about! I hope you will check it out.
