The Colors of Nature -- a Crafty Weekend Review & Link Party

Disclosure: Leisure Arts sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Did you know yesterday was National Coloring Book Day? After I found out I spent the day coloring!! I was going to write this review as well but I got engrossed in coloring. In honor of the fun day I want to share with you a new coloring book. It is The Colors of Nature: A Color, Draw & Sketch Book for All Things Wild & Free by Lindsay Hopkins.

This is not just a coloring book. There are pages that share a bit about the plant and flower as well as coloring pages with quotes and a tutorial on how to draw the flowers or plants and finally a place to write nature observations.

The pages are double sided and relatively thick so most pens will not leak through. I love the coloring pages and love that they teach the user to draw their own.

The book includes pages on bluebells, buttercups, cactus, dahlias, daisies, ferns, monsteras, mums, peonies, poppies, roses, succulents, sunflowers, tulips, and zinnias. It ends with a page suggesting to get out in nature and search for the various plants.
I love the pictures however many of them are large so they are best with markers or colored pencils. I find my gel pens aren't great for all the pictures.

I really love this coloring book and love that it takes the user further than just coloring. To see some of the coloring books I have reviewed check out my Relaxing Friday series
