From Me:

Forget being a children's book, this book is for everyone!! When I first read it I was having a no day. You know one of those days where you can't wait for it to end. I read Yes! No. Maybe? Three Little Words That Change Everything and fell in love! It was exactly what I needed in that moment. It has a religious aspect. It refers to God, the Source, the Light. It is not a specific religion but if you are an atheist you may not want to get this book for your kids. However the book reminds us that we all said "Yes!" to sharing a piece of the Light. Yes reminds us to shine our light--think "This Little Light of Mine." No is our safety. No is for us to set our boundaries on those days we are feeling dark and perhaps unloved. Those days are to remind us we can say, "No." We can say, "No" to the negativity around us. We can take care of ourselves. We can protect ourselves. Maybe is for trying new things. Maybe we will find something to smile about on a dark day. Maybe we will help spark someone else's light with ours.

This book has such a wonderful message that everyone needs to hear. The illustrations are also beautiful and powerful. They play with colors and truly illustrate the words and message. This book is perfect for any child but also for adults going through a hard time or a bad day. I love how each of the three words send a message about improving your life and mindset. This school year I have been really pushing a growth mindset in my classroom and I feel this book does that. It reminds us to shine our light as well as try new things. It also reminds us it is all right to set boundaries and care for ourselves. If we do these things we grow and help others grow. So I hope you will check out this book. I can see it being a wonderful gift for graduations, new mothers and every child! I also imagine many parents will want to discuss this book with their kids after reading it so they can help their kids shine bright and grow!
