From Me:

This book is packed full of advice from famous people from different genres of the world, history, etc. There are politicians, actors, singers, athletes, businesspeople and so many more. Each quote is inspiring advice and advice to get the most out of life. I love that it is divided into twelve categories: Big Thoughts, Getting Started, Ambition & Action, Work Ethic, Success & Failure, Tuning In, Mindset, Self-Care, Life Skills, Resilience, Community, and Purpose. Each category is perfect for someone just starting out or perhaps starting over. The advice is inspiring as well as meaningful. In Tuning In the advice is about listening--truly listening and being preset.

Each category has a beginning page that also has a quote on it. The advice is perfect to be read all at once or when you just need a pick-me-up. Having trouble getting started on a particular project, turn to the Getting Started chapter and get some inspiration. I love that the quotes are about the particular category and have real life significance. There are many giving the advice of connecting with other humans face-to-face and not on a screen and connecting to nature. Let's face it in today's world we definitely need more real contact.

The quotes remind us that life is not easy, and one shouldn't expect it to be. They inspire hard work, determination and grit. They also inspire self-care and taking time for oneself and one's own goals. The quotes show readers true life but in an inspiring manner. It is full of wonderful advice that we all could and should adhere to.

It reminds us we learn from our mistakes, and every success requires hard work and failing to perfect it. Although this book is aimed towards graduates, I could see it being perfect for people going through life changes--job loss, divorce, moves to faraway location, etc. I can also see it being useful for everyone when they are feeling a bit stuck or defeated. I can easily see on a bad day opening the book randomly and reading some quotes to get myself inspired and moving again. I honestly think this book is the perfect little addition to any gift!!
