Elmer's Glow in the Dark Glue -- a Crafty Weekends Review and Link Party

Disclosure: I was sent these bottle of glue in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

So I was very excited to get this new Glow in the Dark Glue from Elmer's. I had many ideas on what to do with it. The obvious one being slime. But we are into Harry Potter right now. Hazel is reading all the books on her own constantly. I had seen an idea of making the Deathly Hallow Resurrection Stone with hot glue on a stone, but I thought how cool it would be to glow in the dark. I decided to use the yellow glue on black(ish) stones.

The Deathly Hallow symbol is a triangle circumcizing a circle with a line segment going down the center. I tried it on two stones. The trick was to find stones with a relatively flat side to actually do the symbol on.

I found I needed to make one shape and then let it dry (overnight) or they would run together and be hard to tell apart. I love how they came out though and so does Hazel. She is so excited to have her own Resurrection Stones. Did I mention we are going to Universal Studios this week for her vacation. She and I are going to Florida tomorrow and I promised her a visit to one part of the Harry Potter World, so here we come. (I can't wait to get away as it snowed again today.) Steve on the other hand wants to stay home and relax here. Oh, well. I want warmth and he wants quiet. We both get what we want.

Now the other day one of Hazel's friend's from school came over with his older brother (sixth grade) since their mom was going to a meeting at school. To entertain them I pulled out the slime making things and the Glow in the Dark Glue. I also discovered Elmer's Magical Liquid earlier that day. (I found it at Staples.)

Now the brothers were slime making experts. Apparently the one in Hazel's class makes it all the time and his brother helps him. When they used the Magical Liquid they were amazed at the ease and how well it went together. They started with the yellow glue.

Then they made the pink slime (for Hazel). Somehow the only photo I got of the pink slime was in the dark. After making these two they went into the dark bathroom to check out the glow in the dark effect. The photos do not do them justice. Here is the yellow slime.
And here is the pink slime.

Finally they made the blue slime.

I did not get a good picture of the blue slime in the dark. They also tried mixing the three a bit. Here they are next to each other.

I love how you can see the sparkle that is in it from the glue in this photo. Each of the glues have a bit of glitter or sparkle in them as well as the glow in the dark quality. Thus they are very fun for slime making. After making these three the kids kept going with other glue that we had. The Magical Liquid only made four batches, but I pulled out our Slimed DIY for recipes. They had fun making glitter and fluffy slimes as well. Needless to say we loved this glue and hope you will check it out. By the way our other idea was to decorate a black party container, but I misplaced the container when I was cleaning and haven't come across it yet. I figured it would give it a really neat effect especially if it was a low light party.

Happy Glowing!!
