Tonight I am going to share some books for the younger readers. These books are board books and picture books and are for our youngest kids. They leave the reader with a good feeling or are just really silly. The first book is Vegetables in Underwear by Jared Chapman. From the title you can tell it will be a bit silly.

This book is perfect for potty training time. The different vegetables wear underwear and it is pointed out that babies wear diapers. (The baby fruits cry over this.) It is a silly but feel good book that makes kids want to wear underwear.

Also by Jared Chapman is Fruits in Suits. It is another silly book which focuses on the different types of suits and which you would swim in. This book is a hardcover book.
Do you want to go swimming? What kind of suit should you wear? In this fun book Grapefruit realizes his suit is different than the other fruits and he cannot swim in his suit. It is fun and cute.

Charlie Rides Planes, Trains, Bikes & More! by Bob Bianchini shows many different ways of transportation. Charlie rides his bicycle, a soapbox car, train and more but his favorite ride is on his father's shoulders.

This board book is perfect for the transportation loving child. It has it all -- planes, trains and automobiles and more! It shows the fun of being on the go and the fun of being with dad. It is perfect for Father's Day too!!

Our next board book is I'm Silly! from the My First Comics Series by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm. In this book Tizzy the Tornado is feeling silly but doesn't realize her silly behavior is irritating her friends when she messes up their things. She realizes that it is not always funny to be silly. It is a cute book that helps teach about feelings and behaviors.

Our last board book for tonight is All in a Day by Cynthia Rylant and illustrated by Nikki McClure. This is a feel good book. It is sharing how every day is an adventure and is up to you to decide how you are going to spend it. What will you do today?

Each day is full of so many possibilities for little ones and this day gets them using their imagination to figure out what they can do with it.

Another feel good book is Pass It On by Sophy Henn. This book is all about when something good happens to you pass it on. If you smile or laugh, pass it on. It is just a fun feel good picture book. It has sweet illustrations as well. Wouldn't the world be better if we all passed on our positive feelings?

Another fun book is A Good Day for a Hat by T. Nat Fuller and illustrated by Rob Hodgson. In this book Mr. Brown decides to wear a hat, but every time he opens the door something happens and he thinks he needs a different hat. He wants to be completely prepared for whatever might happen that day, so he decides to wear them all and in the end he does not have quite the right hat for what happens, but his friend has one for him.

Our next book involves imagination and fun. It is Rain by Sam Usher.

This book is about a boy who cannot wait to get outside, but his grandfather tells him to wait for the rain to stop. However the rain does not stop for quite a long time. When his grandfather needs to go out to mail a letter, the boy gets to have his adventure with his grandfather. He has a wonderful time and uses his imagination to really enjoy the time and he hopes it will rain the next day as well.

The illustrations are fun and you can see the boy's imagination at work in them. It is the perfect book for a rainy day!! Or to remember the fun one can have out in the puddles and such.

Ready for a beautiful animal book or perhaps an exploration of what is outside your door? The next book is for you. It is Wake Up! by Helen Frost and illustrated (photographed) by Rick Lieder. The sun wakes us up each morning and asks us to come out to explore. Who else is waking up out there? What new life is there? The photographs in this book are amazing!! This is a wonderful book for young children about noticing what is going on around them.

There is so much beauty in nature to be explored and discovered by our young kids. This book is the introduction to it.

Our final book is coming out in June!! It is Littles and How They Grow by Kelly DiPucchio and illustrated by AG Ford. This sweet book tells kids about how little ones are loved and cared for by their families. It also reminds them that they are growing and one day will be able to do the things by themselves. It is a sweet book that is perfect for the new parents and for the youngest children. The illustrations are cute and the words are fun.

So if you have some young ones, I hope you will check out these books. They are fun and silly and make you feel good. In the mean time remember to share a laugh and a smile with our kids!!
