Sharing Saturday 15-26

Thank you to everyone who shared last week!! We were visiting my parents last week, so I did not get an email out and the numbers were a bit low, but what was shared was amazing!! If you have not checked them out, you should. For the sampling of ideas from last week I went with Educational Features and Summer Project Features. Enjoy!!

Wild Kratts DVD Reviews & Craft

Disclosure: PBS Kids gave me a copies of these DVDs free of charge. All opinions in my review are my own and I did not receive any other compensation. As in all my reviews I am providing links for your ease, but receive no compensation.

Hazel's favorite television show is Wild Kratts. She gets up at 6 a.m. to watch it every week day and she likes to watch the double episode from 5-6 p.m. as well. We are lucky to have two "local" PBS channels that have it on at different times plus the PBS Kids cable channel. Now that school is out if we are home at 2 p.m.she also wants to watch an episode. Yes, Hazel's schedule goes around the Wild Kratts. She was so excited when I told her I was contacted by PBS Kids to review the newest Wild Kratts DVD: Super Sprinters. Hazel just stood there with her mouth wide open for a minute or two and then she started jumping up and down and cheering. When I wrote this back to my contact at PBS Kids, she said she would throw in a couple of extra DVDs for Hazel and she did! Today we will review all three of the Wild Kratt DVDs: Super Sprinters, Lost at Sea and Bugging Out.

Today I have the pleasure of reviewing a monthly packet from Junior Explorers. We received the Amazon Jaguar Mission packet. Hazel was really excited for this. In our packet we had many things including an introduction letter with your mission code, a checklist to make sure you have everything or your mission, information sheet on the region, stickers and temporary tatoos,

Creating a Cozy Reading Nook -- Decals Tree Product Review

Disclosure: Decals Tree gave me a wall sticker and is supplying the ones for the giveaway free of charge. All opinions in my review are my own and I did not receive any other compensation. As always I am providing links to the wall sticker for your convenience.

In Hazel's bedroom there is a little nook between her closet and what may have been another closet at some point with a window. I have always wanted to make it a reading nook for her. I wanted a cozy spot with some fun pictures to help her imagination go wild. She fell in love with bean bag chairs at the Whole Foods play area near us. So we got her one at Target and moved her fluffy rug over there. Then Decals Tree offered us any wall sticker on their site for $50 or less and are offering a giveaway of the same thing to one of my readers.

Sharing Saturday 15-5

It has been a crazy week here. We were hit with Blizzard/Winter Storm Juno. Hazel was out of school for two days due to the storm, and Steve was at work for around 36 hours straight. Plus it was Multicultural Children's Book Day on Tuesday! Our internet is acting funky, so I have not been posting as much this week. Sorry! However we had an amazing turn-out at last week's party!! If you have not had a chance to check them out you should!! There are many, many ideas from winter, Valentine's Day, educational and more!! I chose a few favorites for you with the categories being Winter, Penguins, Valentine's Day and Miscellaneous. Please check them out and go back and check out the ones I didn't have room to feature!! A huge thank you to everyone who shared with us and to those who took the time to see what others shared!

Groundhog Masks inspired by the Wild Kratts with free pattern

Hazel's favorite television show is The Wild Kratts. It is on PBS and features Chris and Martin Kratt in real life who go into cartoon to explore different animals lives. In cartoons they have all sorts of great technology including creature power suits that allow them to change into the animals. Of course it is not on enough for Hazel so we watch it On Demand often. Since she was home all last week we have been watching the four or so shows that are On Demand over and over. One of the episodes is an Episode from Season 2 called Groundhog Wake Up. (You can see the full episode here for $1.99.) I am sure it is On Demand since Groundhog Day is fast approaching. On the show they make a map on their Creature Pods (I think that is what they are called) after scanning a real groundhog's burrow. Hazel decided to use her play tent as her burrow with the tunnel as one of the entrance tunnels. Watching her play groundhog gave me an idea.
