Halloween Costumes from the 1950's Era

Disclosure: Oriental Trading sent me these products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Can you believe fall is already coming? Schools are back in session and the weather is already turning here. I know Halloween always sneaks up on us once school starts. I am always thankful to Oriental Trading for getting our minds focused on what costume Hazel wants. This year she has been into her American Girl dolls and in particular in the Beforever dolls. She loves Maryellen's poodle skirt. She saved her money and bought the doll outfit and crinoline. She does not have Maryellen, but dressed one of her favorite dolls, Chrysanthemum, in it.

Hazel has wanted a poodle skirt for herself so she picked the 50s Sweetheart Poodle Skirt Girls Halloween Costume when she looked through the Halloween Costumes. She couldn't wait to try it on. It even came with the crinoline.

It comes as a dress with a scarf that has Velcro to "tie" it, a belt and the crinoline with a polka dot edge that shows. Since she donated her hair this summer, it was hard to get her hair into a good pony tail. Hopefully it will be a bit longer by Halloween!

The costume also came with iron-on letters to personalize the dress. She has not had the dress on since I added the "H" for her.

Isn't it cute? I think she is going to be adorable this year! Well she also wants me to dress up and we were able to get me a poodle skirt as well. We had looked through the various Women's Costumes and found the Women's Poodle Skirt

The description says colors may vary. I was a bit surprised to get a red one, but like it. Now I just need to find the right top to wear with it. Mine did not come with a crinoline, but it is made of felt so it tends to have some shape to it. I also love the sparkly poodle on it.

Now the other thing Hazel LOVES is Peanuts® and Snoopy!! (We had a Snoopy Play Date recently.) She has been eyeing the Peanuts® Plush Snoopy Hat for awhile and we finally got it.

I love the profile view of this hat. I had trouble getting a good angle with the front view.

We did have one minor problem with the hat. The nose fell off after a couple of times of her trying it on. However it was very easy to sew back on and is nice and secure now. Here she is with the hat on and holding her Snoopy stuffed toy.
